All projects start with one thing: a checklist. So whether you are renovating or building an entirely new kitchen in Dubai, you will need to have an organized list of the essential factors in the kitchen design that works for hot climates and Dubai homes.
Luckily, you don’t have to make one yourself. We’ve made one for you. Just check off these items while designing your new kitchen:
1.) Design Elements
When renovating or creating a new kitchen, you need to first think of the triangle formed by the stove, sink, and fridge.
These are the three most essential elements in a kitchen and will determine your work areas. You want to space out parts to make sure you can have easy access to each of these and that you can move back and forth in a triangle. The next thing to remember about kitchen design is the design. Get a little creative with your kitchen and use different lines, textures, colours, wallpaper, and flooring options.
2.) Kitchen Layout
You will need to think about how many elements you can place and space out according to the kitchen size for kitchen layouts.
Smaller kitchens can have one-wall kitchens with all elements against a single wall, placed there due to the limited space available. You could even go for a galley kitchen with countertops against two walls.
If you have a little more space available in your kitchen, go for an L-shaped kitchen, island kitchen, or a U-shaped kitchen. The L-shaped kitchen can let multiple people work on two separate and adjacent countertops.
The U-shaped kitchen has three countertops in different areas of the kitchen. In addition, the island kitchen has an island countertop separated from the walls.
3.) Storage Elements
The next step is to think about where you are going to store things. Kitchen cabinets, pantries, fridges, and storage boxes are all standard tools used to store items.
When designing your kitchen, make sure you have enough space available for these elements and that you add adequate storage elements, like big kitchen cabinets or countertop storage, to make your kitchen functional for you.
When it comes to kitchen cabinets, make sure you install the right amount of cabinets for your dishes, spices, and food.
The final element you need to tick off your list is lighting. You need light to cook, clean, cut vegetables, and look for things in the kitchen. You have two options for kitchen lighting: natural or artificial.
You can choose to maximize natural lighting in the kitchen with windows. However, that might not be possible with all kitchens.
The next step is to make sure your artificial lighting fixtures are bright enough and placed in the right spots and provide lighting for your stove, countertop, and sink.
